|Jonny was born in Kenya but educated in England, culminating in a rock-solid sportsman's 2nd Honours degree in Politics from Durham University. This was followed by a post graduate course at a London Drama School, and it was from these humble beginnings that Jonny launched 10 years of spectacular failure as a jobbing actor.
Thankfully, sense finally prevailed in 1994, when the lure of a TV presenting career at Croydon Cable proved too tempting. Much to his surprise, Jonny enjoyed a level of continued success in his new profession - the highlight being his 12-year role as Presenter of Channel 5's baseball show.
Beyond Baseball, Jonny also hosted a number of other sport shows for Channel 5, ranging from Moto GP, to NHL to boxing. Outside of Channel 5, he presented the Sports News for ITV's London Tonight, launched Sky Sports's Sky Poker show, and hosted over 50 cricket shows for ESPN. Bizarrely he has also fronted two game shows on Channel 5 (Brainteaser and Memory Bank).
But it is in the Events Industry that Jonny has perhaps become best known. For 17 years, he has fine-tuned his technique as an auctioneer, to the £35m+ benefit of charities of all sizes (CRUK, The NSPCC, Prince's Trust). Jonny is also a very popular MC, and is a particular favourite of sporting and entertainment legends such as Sir Ian Botham OBE, Lawrence Dallaglio OBE and Sir David Frost.
More recently Jonny presented ESPN's award-winning sport chat show - Pardon The Interruption - and you can now catch his dulcet tones on ITV's iconic game show - Catchphrase.
